FAQs

Is housing or transportation provided?

We do not provide housing or transportation for the summer camp program.

Must I be available for training and the entire camp week?

We require that our activity leaders & high school volunteers are available for scheduled training and all camp hours. Prior to volunteering, all high school volunteers must complete an online training session and quiz to demonstrate mastery of training topics. This is mandatory for all volunteers, regardless of your camp history. A link to the training presentation will be emailed to you by May 1, 2024 and training must be completed by May 26, 2024.

Is Ethics in Ministry (EIM) training required?

EIM Certification is required of all staff members and for volunteers 18+. There will be EIM Training Sessions at St. Thomas More prior to camp. The scheduling of these sessions is TBD. You may attend any scheduled EIM training in the greater Austin area. To access the EIM main information page, clichere. To start the application, or to check on your status if you have already attended EIM Training, clichere. You may apply for a staff/volunteer position without your EIM certification, but must complete this requirement prior to the start of camp.

Is there a dress code?

Staff and volunteers will be provided with a camp shirt, which should be worn daily. We suggest closed-toe shoes, and clothing appropriate for both our hot Texas summers and the position.

May I use my cell phone during camp hours?

You may have your cell phone at camp, but it may only be used for camp-approved purposes, to facilitate communication with camp staff, or for emergencies.

When can I sign up as a High School Volunteer?

High School Volunteer registration opens up on March 1, and is accessible through this website.

Will High School Volunteers receive volunteer service hours?

Yes! Our high school volunteers earn 20 service hours per camp week. A service certificate will be emailed to each high school volunteer at the end of the camp week.
