FAQs

Are MLF Camp and Camp Beyond Me the same camp?

Camp Beyond Me offers the same activities as MLF Camp, while also introducing more opportunities to serve and support local community charities. Campers will continue to participate in all of their favorite MLF activities, including MLF Truck Make Ready and Survival Kits.

May I sign my child up for any of the available camps?

Yes. Our camp program is the same at each of our host churches, and campers are welcome to attend the camp that is most convenient for their schedule and location.

Must my child be Catholic to attend?

No. We happily welcome campers of all beliefs to Camp Beyond Me.

What is your Covid-19 mask policy?

The impact of Covid on our community is a fluid situation that we are closely monitoring. In partnership with our host churches, we will determine our mask policy and other safety guidelines as our summer camp season gets closer.

For what ages is camp offered?

Camp is for children who will be in the 1st-8th grade in the upcoming school year.

May I register my child for more than one week of camp?

Yes.  You are welcome to sign your camper up for more than one week of camp, but please keep in mind that the camp theme is repeated each week.

What is the multi-family member discount?

When registering your children, the third child and beyond each receive a 50% tuition reduction. The first two children in the family pay regular tuition rates.

My camper was waitlisted at registration, what does this mean?

Our camp sessions fill very quickly, and you may find that your camper is placed on the waitlist. Most of our waitlisted campers will be successfully placed in their preferred camp week. We will move your camper from the waitlist into a session opening as quickly as possible, and you will receive an email from the ACTIVE registration system. This email is not a final confirmation of placement! To confirm your camper's placement, you must pay for the camp session in full.

I need to update my child’s registration, how do I access my ACTIVE account?

Are the camp theme and activities the same for each week of camp?

Yes, we offer one camp theme that is repeated for each week of our summer camp.

What should my camper bring to camp?

Your child should wear their camp t-shirt and clothes appropriate for our hot summer weather. Please send your child wearing closed-toe shoes (i.e. tennis shoes).

May my camper be in the same group as his/her friend?

Part of our camp philosophy is to encourage our campers to reach out and make new friends while participating in fun camp activities and service projects. For this reason, we will no longer accept friend requests. Campers will be placed by grade level and age group.

How many campers are assigned to each group, and how many group leaders are there?

Campers will be grouped by age/grade level in groups of 10-12 campers.. Each group of campers will be led by at least two high school leaders who will accompany the group at all times. Adult (18+) activity leaders will lead each group for scheduled activities.

What are the check-in & check-out procedures for camp?

Camper safety is our primary concern, and we ask that parents/guardians adhere to the procedures. Parents are responsible for their child’s safe and timely arrival and departure. We require that all elementary-aged children be escorted to and from camp and signed in and out of camp each day by a parent or other authorized individual. Those authorized  to pick up your camper may be designated on your camp registration form, and we will verify this list at camper check-in. We will have forms available at camper check-in if you would like to change your list of authorized individuals - these forms must be completed and signed by a parent/guardian.

Will my camper be actively participating in service-related activities?

Yes! Our camp allows our elementary campers to participate in many service-based activities, and, in addition to these, our middle school campers will plan and execute a camp-wide fundraiser and community service project. We have found that our campers want to engage actively and directly in addressing community needs - and we are updating our programs accordingly to provide these opportunities.

Will my Middle School camper receive service hours from their camp experience?

Yes! Our campers in the middle school program participate in many service-oriented activities for which they will earn service hours. Each camper will be emailed a volunteer hours certification document at the end of the camp week.

Are snacks and water provided by the camp?

We will provide water and snacks to all campers during the camp day. Allergies and special dietary needs will be taken into consideration. We are a nut-free camp and will provide gluten-free choices for all snacks. For campers with food allergies other than nuts and gluten, we kindly ask that they bring their own food to camp for snack time. Campers are also welcome to bring a personal water bottle that may be refilled during camp.

What is your medication policy?

We are not able to administer prescribed medications to your children at camp. We ask that you have your child take his/her medication before or after our camp day. For special requirements, please contact our Camp Director.

What is your cancellation & refund policy?

In the event that you need to cancel your registration you may get a full refund if you cancel by May 15th. All later requests are not refundable.

If a camp session is cancelled due to Covid-19, are we eligible for a refund?

Yes. If we must cancel a session, we will issue a refund to all affected camp families.
