Christ in those in need, and to respond by serving them in His name.
Living our Catholic Values Everyday
Research shows that the generation born between 2010 and today will be one of the most activism-focused generations, with children and pre-teens already heavily invested in issues of equality, sustainability, and the like.
That’s because the internet has made every issue a global one. You can easily become invested in stories of poverty and inequality worldwide…and miss that these issues exist right in our own back yard. And, local issues are those that our children can do something about!
At Camp Beyond Me, we develop campers’ inherent spirit of social justice to help those right in their community. And, we do so through a spiritual lens, building a bridge between popular culture and faith.
Beyond VBS
Think of us like a service Vacation Bible School: taking the Word and acting it out on the stage of life instead of a school cafeteria.
Like VBS, we gather, pray, sing and play games. But, we also participate in practical ways to help our neighbors in need by performing a variety of service activities, including making sandwiches for Mobile Loaves & Fishes truck runs, homemade cookies for Foundation Communities, and filling backpacks for Hope Austin.
You may look at the state of the world today and think, “But what can my kid do?”
Practically, it may look like “just” a sandwich , or “just” a craft project, but the ripple effects of that service are seen in the recipients’ hope and joy. It’s a small expression of love that positively enhances their worldview and gives them an opportunity to feel seen and cared for again.

But, even more importantly, this outreach enabled us to love our neighbors in the way Christ taught us.
